Former WIN news presenter Steve Hart has literally jumped ship, beginning a new role as cruise director with Viking.
In August the 61-year-old retired from television after a media career spanning three decades. After working at Seven News, 10 News, FOX Sports, radio and entertainment he joined WIN TV in 2024.
“After 32 years in media, I’m stepping into a very different role aboard the Viking Neptune, sailing from Barcelona and visiting ports across the Mediterranean,” he posted. “While the role might look like a big change, it brings together so much of my experience in broadcasting, live entertainment and connecting with people.
“It also gives me the chance to meet people from around the world and see some incredible destinations.
“This opportunity began with a decision, nearly 12 months ago, to pursue something I once thought might be out of reach. At 61, I’m reminded that it’s never too late to take a chance on a new direction.
“I’m grateful to everyone who supported me through the process, and excited for the journey ahead.”
Congratulations came from far and wide with Seven Sunrise presenter Natalie Barr, sports presenter Jim Wilson, John Brady and Katrina Blowers offering their support.
