Msgr. George J. Brubaker, a priest of the Diocese of Wilmington more than 46 years, died Monday morning, Sept. 7, at the age of 78.
Msgr. Brubaker was ordained May 24, 1980. He has been associate pastor at St. John the Baptist, Newark, and pastor at St. John the Apostle, Milford; Our Lady of Fatima, New Castle and St. Paul, Delaware City.
Msgr. Brubaker also has served as chaplain to the Delaware National Guard and judicial vicar for the Diocese of Wilmington among other roles.
He was granted retirement in 2023.
Funeral information is not finalized. “Please keep the repose of the soul of Msgr. Brubaker and the comfort of his family and friends in your prayers,” read a statement from the diocesan chancery.
