International flight searches to Paris are up 11 per cent year-on-year and bookings have risen 5 per cent as Celine Dion prepares for her first full concert run in more than six years, according to new data from Amadeus Travel Intelligence.
Dion’s 16-date Paris residency runs from 12 September to 17 October, and the data, pulled on 12 August, shows fans across the globe locking in long-haul trips around the shows.
Australia 2nd in APAC bookings
While the Americas dominate both search and booking traffic, APAC has emerged as one of the fastest-growing regions for the residency, according to Amadeus.
Japan was the only APAC country to crack the top ten origin countries for search demand, at just 2.4 per cent of searches.
Japan is APAC’s second-largest booking market to Paris during the residency at 6.6 per cent, with Australia (5.1 per cent), South Korea (4.5 per cent) and India (2.19 per cent) all ranking among the top ten international origin countries for bookings.
Together, the four APAC markets account for 18.4 per cent of travellers booking flights to Paris during Dion’s tour dates.
Thailand posted the standout figure among fast-growing markets, with bookings up 200 per cent year-on-year, while Japan (up 40 per cent) and India (up 13 per cent) also posted strong growth.
US leads search demand
The US accounts for more than a quarter of international search demand (26.5 per cent) and booking share (26.85 per cent), with Brazil and Canada, Dion’s home country, rounding out the top three origin markets on both measures.
Southern and Eastern European countries showed strong search growth, led by Greece (up 116 per cent), Romania (up 69 per cent) and Spain (up 66 per cent), but Amadeus noted this hasn’t translated into booking share, with European travellers representing just over five per cent of bookings among the top ten origin countries.
Amadeus said the data reflects a broader “culture tripping” trend, with major tours and cultural moments increasingly shaping travel patterns.
